Hello everyone! Hope you have a good day. The firsf post about WoW was deleted, still don’t know why, but let’s continue right now with the second game. This week, it’s Guild Wars 2! When it come out, people were saying, like a lot of time, “THAT’S THE WOW KILLER OMG”. Even if it didn’t, this game is still one of the most popular. It have no subscription, and a lot of content, with a unique chara-design. The semi-target semi-action fights are loved by some, hated by others. So, what do you think about this game? Do you play it? What’s your best memory of it? Did you played it a little bit too much? Tell us everything in the comments!

I started gw2 about 8 months ago and fell in love with it almost instantly. The art style is amazing, and makes almost any view look like a painting of sorts. But what really sold me the game was exploration.

I was mining my first ores in a cave in Caledon Forest and saw something weird in the corner. I climb up and find an opening, through which I enter a huge cavern filled with lava, golems, floating holographic platforms and all that. (first time seeing Asuran tech/buildings) I just stood in awe for a minute before doing the jumping puzzle. The area wasn’t on map and it was glorious. The fact that the game manages to give me this feeling of discovery in every zone over and over again is astonishing (and somewhat addictive).

I do have to admit that the core game’s story was underwhelming. But by the end of Living World Season 2 I was hooked already. Oh, and I couldn’t play the game without action cam (activated in the settings).

Yes, exploration is probably the most important thing in a game for me, with ambiance. Guild Wars 2 delivered me this, with the possibility to explore with others!

Personally, that’s the first game I really geek out with my girlfriend. We explored the world together, it was so fun to do everything with her, and it build a lot of great memories that I cherish

For me is the lack of class trinity and the base races that I did not enjoy so much. But still is my most played mmo because the world is just incredible for me, everything seems alive like no other MMO

Yeah, the lack of trinity was a little bit weird, but in reality I think I like it. The mechanics are made around it, so if the developpers wanted to put a class trinity right now, it would not fit

When GW2 came out I was playing Rift, I remember there was a lot of hype, we all went to play it.

It didn’t last long unfortunately, most of us couldn’t get into it and we got back to Rift.

I tried again some time later, and again later, until I realized I was playing it with the wrong attitude, that is like it was WoW.

I was so wrong, GW2 is so different from WoW, when I finally understood that there’s no need to rush and you’re truly free to do whatever you want at your own pace, I totally fell in love with it.

I still play it, tho not continuously, there are a few other games I like and I can only play one at a time (not enough free time), so I change every few months.
