This one in particular came to mind. I bought the compendium with the old illustrations so I can properly scar my child with them same as I was.
Still have some of that just burned into my mind’s eye, terrifying stuff for a kid, I think I was like 7ish (maybe 6?) when I read the first one. Still I turned out mostly ok I like to think.
This one used to scare me the most.
I think for me it was the girl with spiders coming out of her face. I think the weird horse pic is scary too.
