    This article is kinda incorrect because Colombia didn’t actually back down at all. What happened is that Trump sent the migrants back on a military plane and in shackles. Now deportation flights happen all the time actually, but they are on civilian planes and not in shackles. So all the Colombians asked was to treat the people with decency and not like criminals. Trump ended up sending them on a normal plane ,not in shackles the second time, and Colombia accepted. All Colombia wanted was to stop the stupid performative cruelty.

      While Murillo did not directly refer to the White House statement, according to which Colombia had agreed to allow US military flights to take the deportees back, he did not deny it either.

      He did agree to military planes based on existing reporting.
