For the kids out there, Rachmaninov is nearly impossible to play, and people get pissed off about it. The frustrating part is obvious here, but the destroying of the piano and contrasting with the lighter parts is the joke.

It’s not very funny now, but I’m sure was a laugh riot when everyone played piano.
