Take some of that NYPD bloated budget and spread it around.
Yeah you can basically answer any NYC funding problem with that. They have a larger budget than many countries entire militaries.
For all intents and purposes, NYC busses are…mostly free right now. I see more people just walk on and not pay than I think I see others pay.
Yeah might as well just bite the bullet that they’re a taxpayer funded free service.
I mean, if they’re trying to get people off cars, let’s do this thing. I’m all for it. If there were less traffic, the busses would be a fuckin amazing way to get everywhere. But for now, they mostly suck. They take way too long because they barely enforce the dedicated bus lanes, so people are double parked and traffic sucks and the light cycles suck.
We could do this with a fraction of the NYPD budget.
