True story… I was being stalked by a 7 year old.
This goes back, oh, 30 years now, when I did story time at a bookstore. I was in the middle of it when I heard my name paged over the intercom, I got another employee to take a message.
It was a teacher from some school requesting a callback. No biggie, I had teachers and schools through all the time.
Wrapped up storytime and called her back.
“Yes, well, I’m so and so’s teacher and I’d like to schedule some time to talk.”
“(confused) Whose teacher?”
“Yes, it’s that time of the year when we sit down with the parents to outline progress goals…”
“Are… are you under the impression I’m somehow related to this child?”
Little scamp took one of my business cards and submitted it as a “Parental Contact”.
I offered to help, but explained I normally just do story time. I also had never been so proud to have almost been a dad!

No, once it was clear to the teacher I had no idea what they were talking about they were all “We’ll take care of it.”
I do wonder about the kid though… What had gone so wrong in their life that story-time guy was preferable to their actual parent…
