I had to switch over to my Windows drive for this game on my desktop. It’s pushing my 11700kf and 3080 a little to hard on the Linux side than what i’d like unfortunately. Hoping it’s just the beta but we’ll see at launch.
I could not get the benchmark to complete on my desktop, I tried a half-dozen times, it always locks up ~15 seconds into the “gameplay” section. Tried experimental proton, turning off frame gen, nothing.
7900xtx so I’m not wanting for hardware. While it behaved I was getting ~200 frames with framegen and ~100 without.
Interesting, I have a 7900xt and had no problem running the benchmark, even getting similar results to what it sounds like you got. The “gameplay” section did get a lot laggier, dropping to only about 60 fps, I assume because they poorly optimized the grass rendering.
Speaking of the grass, the pop in on it looked kinda not great IMO.
Just curious, what resolution are you playing at?
1920x1080
I couldn’t even launch the game during the first beta, but managed to run it with the current benchmark. Managed to hit 45fps with FSR on, and 12fps with it off, but either way, the visual artifacts are so severe, that this is in no way playable on my system, sadly. This is all with Proton-GE 9.23 and a 1080ti
The beta is silky smooth on my rig, but then again I have a 4070 super
I remember Iceborne had issues, so they’ve improved somewhat. Really hoping the full game is at least as stable for me at launch
I have a 4070, the beta is unplayably laggy on linux for me. What’s your setup?
The benchmark runs great for me at least, aside from a tiny bit of geometry explosion at one segment.
I should note I’m also playing on Windows 10
Ah, well that would do it then haha. I guess I just assumed you were on linux based on the community. It also runs silky smooth for me on my windows partition, so at least I’m not totally high and dry here!
Didn’t notice this was a Linux thread till after you comment 😅 I hope this works out for you all because I was thinking of switching to Mint when Win10 stops getting security updates in October
