“Freezing these EV charging funds is yet another one of the Trump administration’s unsound and illegal moves,” said one climate advocate.
This seems like such an over reaction. The program was successful. It was expiring at the end of this year. They cut the program 10 months early. The reactions cited in the article seem way over the top. If something was passed with 24 democratic senators supporting it, it seems outrageous to call them out for not standing up to trump rather than understanding the program worked, and the cost savings to cut it out weigh the potentia return from keeping the program thru the end of the year. Obviously the entities being affected by the cut are guna be mad they are losing incentives but to say, “stopping funding midstream will result in chaos and delays in states across the nation. It will throw state efforts into turmoil, wreak havoc with the companies that install the chargers, and risk the jobs of their workers. The only winner from this chaos is the oil industry.” Is so over the top. It was a 4 year program with a $3.27 billion dollar budget. 3 years into the program 1000 units were installed for $615 million dollars. They were running under budget and idk the target units expected so idk if the 1000 unit per 3 year time period is on schedule but it doesn’t give reason to need the remaining $2 billionish to get thru the next 10 months left in the program.
People should stop painting Congress as a victim. They are co-conspirators. On both sides of the aisle.
It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
…both sides … on /world, you’re asking for it. /s
