    “Y’all” is a perfect second person plural.

    Old English used to not just have a second person plural but a dual - there was a pronoun for just talking to two people. Pronouns are fun, we need some more.

    I use “howdy” as a greeting way to often for someone not from the south

    Legally, I was born in the American South. Now, I haven’t been down there except to visit family for a few decades, but yer darn-tootin I’m gonna keep using the dumb language I grew up with. Ain’t nothin y’all can do to stop me, no matter how many dicks I suck.
