Summary

The National Treasury Employees Union sued CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought over his orders halting bureau activities and granting DOGE access to CFPB systems.

Vought directed employees to suspend investigations and cease public communication, sparking backlash. The union argues these actions are unlawful and jeopardize employee privacy.

Vought also declined CFPB’s next funding request from the Federal Reserve. Critics condemned the move as benefiting corporations at consumers’ expense.

A protest is planned outside CFPB headquarters.

The CFPB was the only thing standing between citizens and the banks and I have no faith in a lawsuit bringing it back.
