I hate how companies keep pushing cloud based services on us.
I hate that they push their bastardized abusive cloud based shit on us.
I wouldn’t mind if they said “hey, you need cloud stuff if you want to have this synced across devices. Wanna host it yourself?”
Good way to debloat Windows from much of its bullshit is to warez Revo Uninstaller Pro. It gets rid of Onedrive, Edge (not webview v2 though) and other Microsoft bullshit.
Still gonna make the switch to Linux in the end of this year though. Fuck me and my gaming rigs Nvidia card… Hopefully it wont be too arduous.
I’m running an Nvidia card on Linux, the situation with Nvidia on Linux is much improved from the older days. I do recommend doing a lot of reading and decide which distro you’d find yourself on before making any changes. Furthermore, I also recommend that you try Mint first, as it is a good starting point for new users, it comes with a nice onboarding experience that is helpful. A lot of the non-free codecs/proprietary drivers for Nvidia are available readily during the installation process or after installing and booting Mint.
Same situation here. I do recommend not buying nvidia in the future but if you have one its fine mostly. Mint is a good start. Kubuntu and tuxedo OS also work well.
Kubuntu is also fine, as it’s the KDE spin of Ubuntu has a lot of the non-free codecs and proprietary drivers available upon install (a very helpful thing for new users). I used it for a while, and it’s quite nice, but I wanted the latest stable kernel, so I switched to Fedora 41. I wouldn’t absolutely disregard Nvidia as they have made strides supporting Linux. Nvidia are often quite expensive, given the demand harder to source at times…AMD offerings can be less expensive and still useful in a PC build.
I agree on all points. I still don’t like nvidia for their business practices. That’s why I don’t recommend them.
Yeah, I had forgotten about their AI bullshit…As well as their scummy tactics, most of which are often written about in detail.

Good, I don’t want you leaping in headfirst like I did (ROFL it was at a time when Linux was a bit more annoying to deal with). Having a good lay of the land and paddle to direct your wandering is a good idea!
