That’s a quite a strange move for such a young player at the top of his career, instead of older players.

Gonna see more of this I think. They’re simply outspending everyone. Probably will come back to bite though — look at China. Oscar’s still fucking there.

I wonder what their end game is though. Like will they try to get the average Joe to get a subscription for the Saudi league?

Lmao really? Oscar had style, it’s pretty bleak that he spent the majority of his career in China. Not that I have anything against their league but it’s just that the best players should be playing against each other, not wallowing in a foreign league for money

He tried to go back to Brazil last year but Shenhua blocked the transfer lol, even as a Gooner it’s fucking tragic. Granted I’m biased as a Hong Konger but… If they want reputation-type players, they should do like Kitchee did with Forlan — take someone at the end of his career so that he gets to play the beautiful game and then help us improve reputations lol

I think people will be surprised how much more frequently this will start happening. The truth of the matter is that the Saudis have enough money to turn their league into the worlds best, or at the very least comparable to the best leagues in Europe.

Not that I would want that to happen, but it is a possibility that shouldn’t be so easily dismissed.

They’re already arguably Asia’s best… fucking terrifying from my POV.

That’s a quite a strange move for such a young player at the top of his career, instead of older players. Maybe we’ll get more and more young talents moving there.

Might be a Mendes related thing, that no other clubs wanted to pay what he and wolves wanted. He also went to wolves in the championship when he first went there even though he was obviously better than that.

Yeah I think you’re right; Qatar attempted to attract a lot of talents from West Africa and Brazil in anticipation of the world cup, so I’m sure we’ll see something similar to bolster teams in Saudi Arabia.

Fucking hell, burying a career like that. I know, I know, money and what not, but he would have plenty opportunities to get the bag later.

As a Wolves supporter, it sucks to lose a player that has meant so much to the team. But that’s a better fee than we were gonna get elsewhere and the team needs it.
