Quite a result.

I really hate the way that the only replays we’ve seen (in the UK at least) start with video, but immediately change to the CGI of goal line tech.

I’m not saying it wasn’t over the line but I’d like to see it with my own eyes rather than a computer generated image of where the tech says the ball was.

Even with the tech, it looks like there isn’t a single millimetre between the ball and the line, and I just don’t believe that GLT can possibly be that accurate.

That said, I’m sure it was over and the correct decision and everything. I just want to see it for real, rather being asked to trust a machine.

What a penalty. Lina Hurtig barely getting it over the line. The USA are out and the threepeat dream is dead.

Not a fantastic game from Sweden but Musovic was a titan in goal. And that penalty shootout was nuts. I’ve never seen a closer call than that winning penalty. I’m happy Sweden is through, but I can’t even begin to imagine what it would feel like for Naeher, actually saving the critical shot but still losing by literal millimetres. Absolutely heartbreaking.
