Getting back to talking about my pedals today with the Boss CE-2w.

This pedal came out right as I was looking for a new chorus pedal. I have an old big box Small Clone that I was using before this. I didn’t like that it didn’t really have a depth control and the 3.5mm headphone jack style power is always annoying. Combine that with the fact that I’m a huge fan of John Frusciante it was a no-brainer to buy this. It remains the only pedal I’ve pre-ordered.

As you can see I keep the depth pretty subtle. This allows me to get that funky, plucky, warbly tone you hear a lot on Blood Sugar Sex Magic if I dig in and play hard. I also find that if I play lighter with chords I can get that really pretty chorus/flange type movement too. I tend to prefer the middle CE-1 mode but the other modes are really nice too. I can’t see myself ever replacing this pedal and I recommend it to anyone looking for a chorus. I really think it’s worth the price tag.

I was right about to throw 150€ on it from a friend… then i saw that there is an ALMOST 1:1 replica in a toneprint on the corona mini and i went for it… it’s not even a staple of my board, not even properly cabled, it didn’t make sense… but o agree, i think it’s the best chorus out there
