Settings are everything low, resolution ingame is 720p, the Ally display is set to 1080p. Intel upscaler performance mode. There are some graphics settings that can go higher but I didn’t bother to experiment too much and everything on low still looks awesome. Great game for the Ally!

That’s good to know, but how do things look in low settings? The smaller screen (compared to a monitor) generally means loss of detail isn’t as noticeable, but a few games on low look like total balls.

It looks great in my opinion, I just fished the game an hour ago. Can’t compare the experience to a big screen but I enjoyed it from start to finish. Yesterday I tried 15w again and it runs surprisingly well (I have the latest updates/bios installed), solid 30+ FPS and the Ally is pretty silent this way!

That sounds promising. Have you tried it in a manual 18w setting? I’ve found that is good in many games for 45 or 50fps but with the same heat/fans as 15w. AutoTDP is also great for this.

As someone who loves tinkering, really impressed how performant the ROG Ally is. Some amazing results of you perervere.

Not really because fiddling with the fans is not something that I enjoy and there’s also a bit fear that I might fry my beloved Ally. 😅

The 18w mode doesn’t run much warmer than 15w and mismch cooler than 25w, so using the 3rd fan profile keeps it cool. I know what you mean though, with the SD card issues o feel the same way 😅
