    I’m not sure how things can change when there is a legal requirement for corporate officers to maximise shareholder earnings.

    How can even a well intentioned person operate ethically in this structure?

      They can’t. Systemic change is fundamentally necessary.

      That said, there is an argument that a suboptimal but eco friendly choice is better PR and a long term growth strategy
