My favorite example of this was Diablo 2. I killed a swarm of insects with my sword and got a unique halberd as loot.
Those insects were working hard to carry that halberd. I bet they figured if they had gotten a few more weeks to practice with it, they would have really showed you the power of their swarm.
Sorry, I died as a peasant levy. I only have proficiency in spears and sickles.
