A former student at a defunct Catholic boarding school in Edmonton has filed a $6.9-million lawsuit claiming he was groomed and sexually abused by a teacher in the early 1980s.

Stephen Bounds, 52, says the late Marc Desjardins forced him to perform sex acts when he was a 12-year-old student at St. Mary’s Salesian Junior High during the 1983 school year.
