    our bard once told a skeleton that he could tell by its skeletal structure of its face he could tell that it was ugly when it was alive

    Are there war crimes in D&D? I feel like this shouldn’t be allowed and the family of that dragon (or whatever) should seek closure in court

    i don’t get it…why does the DM ask for wis saves at the end?

      It was powerful but non-specific. That’s an anxiety everyone can have, so while the intended target just immediately got destroyed, everyone else has to make a save to avoid becoming affected themselves.

        That’s how I took it. It’s so powerful it insta-killls, then by default everyone within earshot thinks about what was said and needs to save else they also take the depressive damage
