Wasn’t this actually about putting these subjects in a different part of their education? Seen this on Reddit, and it was found to be misleading.
Yes. This is more about moving things around. That said it is nice to have a hawk like watch on education in India as many state governments have tried to meddle the syllabus to reflect their ideologies more. Communists in kerela were accused of promoting Atheism, BJP in Karnataka wanted kids to learn more about its leaders and less about Tipu Sultan and so on.

Then they’ll be Surprised Pikachu Face when their population in 30 years is missing the fundamental scientific basis necessary to develop a self sufficient service economy with native born engineers and scientists…
I can see why certain groups might have an agenda behind removing evolution (even if those reasons are insane), but what possible benefit is there to removing the periodic table???
EXTRACT The NCERT has dropped a chapter titled Periodic Classification Of Elements from 2023’s Class 10 science textbook for 15- to 16-year-olds. However, the Class 11 chemistry textbook still has a chapter titled Classification Of Elements And Periodicity In Properties that traces the history of the development of the periodic table of elements.
Passages on Darwin’s theory of evolution and sustainable management of natural resources have also been excised from Classes 9 and 10 study material. Evolution remains in the Class 12 textbook.
The changes affect some 134 million children between 11 and 18 years old in Indian schools.
