My city is surrounded by Bible belt rural “cities are literally Satan” counties

In like 3 directions now about 20-30 minutes out are these “fine I’ll build my own city with blackjack and bookers” “town centers” with residential and first floor commercial and a event area for concerts and stuff where you’ll NEVER have to drive

Until you need to do literally anything other than grab a cup of coffee. 🙄

Honestly I’m just pissed that they are paying far below fair market rate for the land. 15k per acre is nothing for development in the state. Taxpayers getting ripped off.

I wonder what kind of authoritarian policies they will have to keep the homeless out of sight.

Pretty wild, right? I gotta admit, the idea of Silicon Valley elites creating a utopian city sounds both intriguing and a bit sci-fi. On the one hand, it’s cool to imagine what innovative tech they’ll bring in, but I wonder about the implications for local housing prices and communities. Let’s just hope this dream project doesn’t become a gated paradise and instead focuses on sustainability and inclusivity.
