They took him there against his wishes, he didn’t need medical help. He’s just disabled…
Being detained for literally no reason is reason enough for a lawsuit.
The context is that the cops assumed someone that wasn’t walking ‘normally’ and wasn’t responsive to police commands (both due to disability) was reason enough to deprive him of his freedom. He wasn’t committing any crimes and police decided to detain him for hours for no reason.
Should’ve gotten way more. Hope this doesn’t set a precedent for low balling people that have disabilities.
Maybe he didn’t have a great lawyer. Kidnap me, take me to a hospital when that;s not where I was headed, probably treat me like week-old biscuits along the way. Dud should’ve asked for #100,000 baseline.
