Why wasn’t the dad invited to the wedding? Why did he not even hear about it till the day of it happening? How did he never hear of this woman before the marriage to the point where he doesn’t even know her name?

This story is full of plot holes and I will not be going to see it in theaters if it gets made into a movie.

Some people aren’t incredibly close with their parents.

My dad wasn’t at my wedding and I told him about it after we got married. He didn’t meet her until we had been married for almost two years. I still talk to him often, we just don’t really talk that much about stuff like that.

Once my aunt I was never close with called me and told me she was getting married the next day without any warning. It was weird because she acted like we were close when she called. I was nice and was like awesome, congratulations, etc. She proceeded to tell me she was marrying the ex husband of someone I hadn’t spoken to in years. She was worried I would care? I literally don’t care at all, I’m not involved with any of these people and I don’t feel any way about any of them haha. I don’t think I’ve talked to my aunt since either. I haven’t talked to any of my aunts or uncles since I was like 20. And even the last few years of my teens it was only when they talked to my mom and I was just there.

Some people just want it to be them and their SO

You mean the SO that the parent only found out about weeks after they were part of the family?

Good point, I missed that. Nothing against people eloping, but that’s a bit yikes
