According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, Portland is prepared to offer the third overall pick in Thursday’s draft along with guard Anfernee Simons for Brooklyn’s Mikal Bridges, but they the Nets are not willing to accept that deal. Because of this, per Lowe, some NBA executives believe that the Nets are essentially overvaluing Bridges in comparison to the alleged trade offered by the Trail Blazers.

This is crazy to me. I get Bridges has a ton of talent and should continue to become even better, but they could have had Ant and Scoot (or anyone they wanted other than Wemby and Miller). I’d be curious to know what else they wanted included to make the trade happen.

As crazy as that news was. I’m so happy that the Nets didn’t get to do this trade. The Blazers lucked out in getting both Kris Murray AND Rayan Rupert.

I’m looking at some Rupert Highlights, and if we are lucky, we stumbled into a Mikal Bridges/ Batum type of player, with a second round pick!

I’m just glad that at the end of the day, we didn’t mortgage our future for a stop gap solution what wont help us out in the long run anyway. It’s the Net’s loss and I don’t feel bad for them being greedy.
