    I assume the Board directed and approves of this “if we burn it down to try to increase profits so be it” approach. They could have been so much more creative in developing a profitable model. They’re acting like they’re TRYING to kill Reddit. Mission accomplished!

      They didn’t really even need to be all that creative. Literally just “put the ads into the API” would have sufficed. Or “charge third-party apps, but charge them a reasonable amount” (on the order of 2x how much advertising revenue was being lost to them, instead of 29x). It’s not bloody rocket science.

        They really didn’t think anything through. With a little planning they could have done something like “hey we know this will suck but we have to end 3rd party apps for business reasons, but because of this we made upgrades to our own apps accessibility and functionality”. Most people can understand that. What they can’t behind is all the lies and shitty corporate behavior.
