I think the same conversation is happening over here. It sure if we care or not/how we want though :)
Engine volume has never been a thing that attracted me to F1. It’s not like my TV just gets louder. The sound all gets normalized for broadcast. I’ve only ever attended one race in-person.
Seems like wishful thinking to me. The turbo is what reduced the volume and the turbos are being retained. I’m not sure how removing the energy recovery from the turbo will make things louder.
