Seems to me that they’re forgetting that there will come a time when we stop asking politely.
They just need to delay that until all communications, financial transactions, and travel can be tracked and fed into rebellion-predicting algorithms. And they’re so close. Encryption and cash are still legal, but at least they’re stigmatized.
