Hey all! So I’ve shared some of my tokens here before, but it’s been a while. I’ve honestly been neglecting the tokens site for a while while I was busy with some other things, but I’m getting back to it this weekend + looking at streamlining some things, and I wanted to ask for y’all’s feedback if I could.
So currently I’m selling unfinished wood tokens for around $1 each:
I’m proposing to simplify the pricing a little and shrink the bundles so it’s:
- $10 for 10 tokens (one bundle is player tokens, one is enemies, etc)
- $20 for 25 tokens
Then also, I’m proposing to add some fancier brass and resin tokens:
For those I’ll probably do similar bundles at around $2.50 a token ($25 for 10 etc).
Any feedback / thoughts on what people feel about that pricing and plan? Also, do you think it’d be worthwhile to offer polycrylic-finished wood tokens for around $2 each? I wasn’t going to (just the unfinished wood for $1 or the brass for people who want nice ones), but I’m curious if people think it’s worth doing.
Also - would people be interested in a DIY option where you can get already-cut-out precision decals on fancy adhesive vinyl for like 20c each, so you can stick them on whatever materials and make your own? Or is using your own printer for 0c per token still preferable for most people?
I’m interested in any and all other suggestions or feedback also, in addition to those specific ideas – just LMK what you think, all the best, + hope everyone has a good weekend.
Icons of the realm: $4.50 per (it’s $19 for one big & three reg)
Campaign case Creatures: $0.40 if dividing per cling, or $1.01 per disk
Pathfinder pawns: $0.20 (it’s $40 for “more than two hundred”)A dollar per seems a li’l high esp since some parts of these are unfinished. But maybe some people are into that 🤷🏻♀️
So a while ago I was looking into metal coins for a portable DM kit. I ended up going with the following sets.
Character class double sided metal coins for about $42 or $3 a pop. This was the most expensive set since this would be what I handed out to the players each session. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1015859072/14-dnd-character-tokens-1-inch-dungeons
Some large coins for inspiration counters. $7.5 for the set of 6 or $1.25 a pop. https://www.etsy.com/listing/770748066/ancient-greek-themed-gaming-coins-jumbo
Smaller coins for tracking opponents. $7.5 for set of 15 or $0.50 a pop. https://www.etsy.com/listing/785742769/mythological-monsters-themed-gaming
And tiny tokens for tracking conditions or smaller enemies. $7.5 for set of 18 or about $.42 a pop. https://www.etsy.com/listing/785741109/mythological-monsters-themed-gaming
Those 4 sets fit compactly into a 2oz tin that came with some loose leaf tea. I was looking for general purpose, somewhat consistent art, durability, being compact. The biggest downside is that they can be heavy when all together.
I do like the artwork that you have for your sets, and the color choices makes things stand out well. For the price point you list on the wooden tokens I would hope to maybe see the bottoms have a plain white side that could work with dry erase markers. That might also let you use them to mark terrain/objects or use them in other game systems like creature tokens for Magic the Gathering.
