Bullshit. All periodicals should be archived. Let’s not make it easy for people in media to hide lies.
I’m all in favor of keeping an audit trail for newspapers, so they can be on record if they write a “Hitler the 2nd seems like a bang-up candidate” article. But I’m wondering if their reason for this was to restrict people from reading the archived articles to get around their paywall.
That might be true with some other publications, but New York Times gives an ability to create a sharable link for their premium subscribers, which makes it availalbe to everyone with that link.
