This fellow is 1,5 years old, last year she gave me like one and a half pepper. This year the plant has over 50 buds, flowers and fruits.
Nice and tall! how hot is are the peppers? any variation in color?
The first fruits are just starting to grow! I will keep you posted if you’re interested :-)
Spicy. Ooo-la-la.
Foliage looks nice and healthy, hope you get some great fruit!
Nice!
Out of curiosity does anyone on this sub know how to ensure more flowers develop into peppers?
You can always pollinate by hand by “tickling” the business end of the flowers. You should see a bit of yellow pollen on your finger. If you don’t or the buds still fall off, your plant isn’t setting fruit for one of a couple reasons:
-
Plant has too much fruit already and can’t support anymore.
-
Weather is too hot. Generally peppers don’t like to bear fruit when heat is above 80F or so (guessing at that temperature so take with a grain of salt). Growers in Texas frequently post issues with plants not setting any fruit in the middle of summer for this reason.
-
Nutrients are lacking, or growing conditions are otherwise unstable or plant is stressed. Try to maintain a consistent watering schedule and feed it fertilizer based on the package instructions.
-
Some other reason I probably haven’t thought of yet
Nice, thanks for the tips.
