From what I understand they have been quite opaque about their research and outcomes so far. I can’t see them recruiting people easily without being completely open and honest, and that’s before taking in to account the poor monkeys. My suspicion is they are making twitter a paid service so anyone who falls behind on their twitter fees will become part of a neuralink experiment

I can appreciate the basic research at least, if they achieve anything new, even if it doesn’t work, then scientists know not to repeat it next time. If the achieve something that is not new but works and brings the cost down then that’s great too.
Why would anyone want this?
Somebody with quadriplegia, for example. It’s in the article. For somebody with no autonomy the risk, even a large one can be worth it.
If rather trust a professional care giver than let some short sighted, malicious asshole put an experiment in my brain
