Actually the only time I was ever taught about John Brown was in History Class. She also put strong emphasis on the Indian Removal Act and all the times in history decisions have been made about countries, without the consent of those countries.
History class would he the appropriate place, what other subject were you thinking would teach you about him/those events? Not trying to be hostile, genuinely curious.
I think the idea of the post was that they don’t teach it at all. I just happened to have a teacher that ensured we learned about the good and the bad.
