Somehow those are still the current Catachan infantry models. I wouldn’t recommend it, but you can buy them right from GW.
That’s surprising. I haven’t bought/played any games workshop things in many years. But from what I’ve seen things have advanced recently. Always hated painting metal miniatures haha. Good memories though.
These Catachans are plastic. Back in the early 3e days they were the only plastic Imperial Guard infantry.
The plastic Cadians which were recently replaced have been looked down on by modern players, but back when they were introduced it was amazing to have a kit that could be aesthetically integrated into different regiments.
It is much easier to turn a Cadian into a Mordian or Valhallan than it is to do it with a Catachan.
The OP picture was one of the narrow range of themes that worked with the Catachan plastics. Big crazy guys running around with ork weapons.
If you actually want Catachan style troops, the Space Nam minis are so much better!
