I hope so. Also, would be nice to convert some of it to living space, although at least where I live this would come with an even bigger fall in value for those estates.

Their real estate value would increase of those that can be converted into apartments/condos were. Less commercial real estate available for those who want it, more money than sitting empty for those converted, residential space for cities in dire need of it, win win win!
