    Seems like a sensationalized headline to me. Police won’t prosecute because the women is “…unwilling to proceed with a criminal complaint…”

    Yes, the article points out the law does not require a criminal complaint to investigate and file charges, but the police are significantly less likely to get a conviction without the cooperation. I don’t have statistics here, but I have to imagine the success rate of a criminal case like that would be almost negligible.

      Look, if anyone downvoting me would like to tell me where I’m wrong, I’m open to it.

      But please don’t take my comment as a defense of the doctor in this case. It’s not at all.

    It’s pretty hard to feel good about yourself as a Canadian seeing such blatant proof that this ugly racist attitude still thrives here, both in the doctor and in the refusal of both the police and the regulator to take it seriously.
