Prompt: an antique style rotary phone designed to celebrate quaint Amish farming life.

In Bing Image Creator, Dal•e 3

I thought it was funny to have a phone depicting generally phone-less Amish life. Then Bing amazed me with how nice it looks.

Here’s another one from the same prompt

And one more variation of the same prompt.

It’s impressive, but they still look like renders to me and not real life. They just have that cgi look to the materials.

Yeah, they are just a little off. Too clean or the colors are part of the plastic instead of printed or painted on top of the surface. Or something. Ever so slightly not right.

Also the cable and I don’t think that mechanism would turn.

What’s wrong with the cable? Good catch on the dial mechanism, didn’t even notice the metallic knob/stopper sitting a few cm into the dial haha

Yeah, it looks like there’s a safety button there that locks the dial in place.

Actually, this tells us more about humans than about AI. Humans are very familiar with looking at hands, faces and logical things built by humans. If the AI messes up leaves, choral or grass, you won’t notice it very easily.

Yeah, the things we take for granted are hard for the computer(s) to figure out how to do correctly. I thought if it can do actual words now, it should do sequential numbers along a circle, too? Nah.
