The 70-year-old’s official cause of death is still under investigation, but the coroner said “blunt force trauma is evident” from the crash.

seroiusly… are they just that bored with life?

I’ve got an idea. the ultimate survival adventure! for 5 million, I’ll drop you off on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (you know… the island of trash…) wearing nothing but a speedo. and leave.

for an extra million, I’ll give you a spiffy knife.

It’s not so much that they’re bored, although that’s probably how they frame it to themselves.

For some people, it’s that to be that rich you have to ignore a lot of suffering and inequality. I think that takes a toll on your mental health if you don’t constantly distract yourself, hence all the thrill-seeking/chaotic behavior and drug use.

For other people, it’s that after having a lifetime of no one ever denying them anything, or facing any consequences, they genuinely start to think they can truly do [whatever] they want.

I do imagine Chuckie Cheese and Six Flags get boring quickly with that kind of money.

Nothing more deadlier to a billionaire than a hobby.

Dead billionaires are a dime a dozen this month. At least the last ones were interesting.

I know, I know… but the submarine story really was an interesting news cycle. It was filled with weird shit and no one felt too bad about the outcome because it was the best outcome for that scenario and pretty much everyone involved was… not the most sympathetic.

    1. Deep-Sea Titanic Tourism Diving is a thing? (Who knew? I didn’t.)
    2. How much air does a man need? [News at 9:00].
    3. The Schrödinger’s Billionaire Problem explained. [BBC Reports].
    4. “I hope they died quickly in an implosion, but the alternate horrors are too horrific to ignore”. Let’s discuss.
    5. You made a submarine out of what?
    6. And all of this seemed like a totally good idea? To everyone? People pay for this?

It would have been nice if everyone had been saved and no one suffered for days, but the second best outcome (sudden catastrophic implosion) really was the best outcome. Mainly because no one suffered.

Why are obituaries for rich passed off as news? How does it not damage a news outlet’s reputation?
