Are 1st world countries actually better?
Many people who study this topic reach the conclusion that the USA is not a first world country, just a third world country with a lot of money.
Things like highly segregated societies with huge wealth and income inequalities are relatively rare in other developed nations, but more common in the USA and third world countries.
I think the term “1st world” and “3rd world” are extremely outdated. I don’t have a solution however.
Originally they were propaganda to mean ‘involved’ and ‘not involved’ in the war, right? Now via usage they’ve evolved to mean ‘developed’ and ‘dystopian’.
Shithole country and regular country is good enough for me.
Mind linking to a few of the “many people who study this topic” that think the US isn’t a 1st world country? The term isn’t without controversy but I can’t find anything that excludes the US. I think you’d have a very hard time excluding the US without excluding virtually every country as well…
Just googling related keywords pops up so many results, I find it hard to believe you can’t find anything.
Here is one result:
That link in particular doesn’t say anything about the US being a 3rd world country… It just links to a list of archived articles and calling them articles is being generous. You think there would be a better link since it’s something that “many people” have studied.
Yes.
Is the US actually first world? To be debated.
They have better armies.
True.
Same old US.
That was no man
