Mo is such a wholesome guy, genuinely loves the club and the opportunity he’s been given in life, even though he doesn’t play much anymore.
I’m pretty pleased we’re keeping Mo around. I feel like he’s probably worth keeping around just for the dressing room energy, but part of me is hoping he scores one of his screamers to win a cup one day.
He’s way down the pecking order for defensive midfield (behind Rice, Partey, and Jorginho). But I’m glad we’re keeping him around. We need depth, and against weaker teams he can still put in a decent shift. Plus, as some of you have already pointed out he’s a fantastic mentor and influence on the younger players in our squad.
I would love if Elneny somehow manages to yet again find a second wind to push back into the first XI, would be a fucking amazing arc.
If Elneny is the answer, I am fucking terrified of what the question is!
@soycapitan451 @Astrealix i know. I love Mo. if he’s in our starting XI then that means something has gone terribly wrong with our season/injury record.
Hence why I said “second wind”. At current ability he’s not, but who knows XD
@Astrealix yeah but even with a second wind, where our squad is now, he shouldn’t be close to starting.
I mean, if Elneny works a miracle I’m not gonna complain lol. Elneny is still the answer to some things in our club, most notably “Who’s the best Egyptian in the Premier League”, so… :)
