The mindset of people who think it’s a capital crime to be where they shouldn’t be is insane to me. Let’s say it didn’t turn out to be the pool cleaner, but instead was a vagrant or even someone looking for something to steal. If the cops came, that person likely wouldn’t even end up in jail, they’d be charged with a misdemeanor crime, but the home owner thinks the appropriate punishment is death.

Shooting at someone who poses an imminent threat to you or your family makes sense to me, but nothing short of that.
