Loud alarm from my phone’s speaker came with it.

Just wondering what happens in traffic if everybody at a crossing gets these alarm sounds from their phone at more or less the same time.

We had these sent out here in Norway not to long ago. Totally normal thing and nothing to worry about…

If you found them totally normal I guess our definitions for normal isn’t the same. That we have the possibility to send such alerts is a good thing, but the use of it this autumn was excessive. One time was warranted I guess even though that when we got it in Trondheim there was just a light drizzle.

Some context for non-Norwegians: It was used in large parts of the country to alert about extreme rainfall. Also reaching way beyond the areas that was in any sort of danger. There were multiple such alerts sent in a span of a few days. More than one the same day also.

Same thing in Italy, but I haven’t seen any more alerts after the initial test

Much of the rest of the world has been doing these every so often for years. They’re normally announced in advance and I haven’t heard of any severe mishaps.

I’m more worried about the fact that the timestamp is two months old.
