The “2024” aspect of this announcement was surprising, interested to see how this will integrate with the existing game.

Hopefully the 3rd party planes get carried over. Those things can be expensive.

I will be waiting to see what it offers before buying it. MSFS has many issues, it is pretty pointless spending over £100 a second time without knowing these issues are fixed.

I bet it’s a paid add-on like Reno Air Races, but I hope it’s free. Asobo said they were supporting MSFS for 10 years, so it would be really disappointing if they already abandoned it after 3.

edit: So I saw in the FAQ that it’s a standalone sequel, but that most marketplace content should be compatible. Will be interesting to see how they handle the pricing/release, but at this point I’m preparing myself to be disappointed at having to make a pay another 70EUR for it.

He said that MSFS was a 10 year project, not that the 2020 version would be supported for 10 years, something he is reiterating now.

I personally can live with this. The expectations of some on the ASOBO forums seems a tad unrealistic. When you buy the game, there is no real promise of any addons being any good. Addons can sometimes be valid until the next patch only, if they are unsupported. The only thing that is guaranteed is what is advertised with the game and nothing more. So for those who spend hundreds on addons, they need to accept that there is a gamble element tied into that.
