A Miami-Dade police officer has been charged in the sexual abuse of three girls, records obtained by USA TODAY on Thursday show.

Daniel Ramos-Aviles, 40, was arrested by his own department on Monday night and has been charged with three counts of sexual battery on a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12, among other charges.
