Financially, the sharing economy darling is thriving, but guests, hosts, and cities have had enough.
I don’t believe I have a single peer who hasn’t had a terrible experience with Airbnb. Whether it be reported by the guest or hosts but the consensus is Airbnb always wins at the cost to the renter, the guest or both.
Something that used to be so convenient has now turned into a blight that takes housing off the market by turning what would be first time buyers homes into “investment properties” and Airbnb is here to collect.
AirBnB used to be significantly cheaper than hotels, but now with all the excessive charges it’s more often than not more expensive
The thing grew out of the couch serfing trend which was essentially free outside of some gifting to show appreciation.
