Oh nooooo it’s such a bad idea. Cartoon fine, but live action…?

The problem is the games never nailed enough down, so your adaptation is going to involve a lot of you filling in blanks. That’s going to inevitably disagree with the way everyone else filled the blanks in in their minds, I guess you could call it headcanon.

It’s basically impossible to nail it. It’s a business dealing at the end of the day, you have to meet your customers expectations or you will probably upset them. And this isn’t LotR or Dune where you have this huge amount dialogue and plot you can work with. Zelda games aren’t very heavy in either.

The thought of a live action Gerudo fills me with fear. How tf are you gonna do a Rito, Zora or Goron!? Please stahp live action remakes! Link means a handful of pixelated things in my minds eye. I don’t want an uncanny live version rattling around my brain as well!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Nintendo and Sony Pictures are making a live-action film of much beloved video game series The Legend of Zelda.

Renowned video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad of the Spider-Man trilogy will co-produce, with The Maze Runner’s Wes Ball directing.

It is among the most successful franchises of Japan’s Nintendo, alongside Super Mario Bros.

It also garnered five-star reviews from Empire,The Guardian, Metro, the Daily Mirror, and the Radio Times.

Breath of the Wild, the previous Zelda instalment, sold an estimated 30 million copies.

Previous film adaptations of popular video games such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter have been panned by critics as well as fans.

The original article contains 212 words, the summary contains 108 words. Saved 49%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Previous adaptions such as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter?

      What timely references.
