I tried it and had no problems, but:

1. There’s very little content.
2. Content discovery is very poor

From a creator side of things, there’s no ads, so making money is that much more difficult, so content will likely remain poor…

It’s my understanding that from a technical perspective, YouTube is actually really advanced, so that will be a challenge to compete with as well.

It needs a lot of work to become even a little competitive.

Lemmy/kbin/mastodon and their Reddit/Twitter competition operate in a much easier space to compete in.
