Hopefully many others will follow suit. Pavement parking is an accessibility nightmare.
Even as an able bodied person it can be a squeeze. It’s so inconsiderate.
Sounds good, always infuriated me when I was pushing my kid’s buggy around and cars blocked the pavement. Even worse for people who use wheelchairs I would imagine.
Wait pavement parking is actually legal in Scotland?
Footpaths are for pedestrians not cars. You’d hate living in the south east. People view the pavement as an extension to their drive ways. Many people would much sooner block a path than the road.
It’s ridiculous that this isn’t enforced across the country.
Personally I’d also like to see limitations on parking on narrow streets too. It’s ridiculous how many rural communities I drive through where you have to weave between cars parked on either side of the road. We need dedicated parking bays and the road center line to be updated to account for them. At present the center line is entirely pointless because two thirds of the “lane” is blocked by a parked car.
