A US military aircraft crashed in a training accident in the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Friday evening, according to the US European Command, though there were few other details provided.

    “Out of respect for the families affected, we will not release further information on the personnel involved at this time,” the statement said.

    This means they all died and they’re waiting to notify the families first.

    Dang, this keeps getting worse.

    If I had to guess, I’d say a lot of it is a cultural issue. Soldiers not respecting the dangers of military equipment, being raised in an environment where they’re rewarded for their failures, and treating military work as a job or simulation instead of a duty where their lives are on the line.

    I expect things to get worse. The military has a recruitment problem already, so they can’t exactly be picky about who joins.
