I might not be up to speed but didn’t Grusch say that AARO hadn’t contacted him? I don’t understand why Kirkpatrick feels the need to call out Grusch so extensively in this interview.

Yeah. It sounds like Grusch spoke to Kirkpatrick around the time of AARO’s formation, though not through any AARO reporting. Keep in mind that they didn’t even have a website until August 2023 and no reporting tool until October 2023. After getting nowhere with trying to report his concerns through official channels, Grusch filed his whistleblower complaint. Regardless of whether AARO then contacted him or not, it makes sense that he would prefer people go through the IGs to get this information. Kirkpatrick should have the means to get this information without Grusch, so it seems like a way to avoid entering it into AARO’s records.

This is a good article to get Kirkpatrick’s current thoughts on AARO and his beliefs on the phenomenon. Though, he’s still representing AARO and his statements will be framed around their goals and objectives. I’d love to see how his responses change after leaving.

These are my thoughts exactly. I’m starting to get Hynek vibes.
