You sure? Insurgency 1 or Sandstorm? Insurgency Source tuns great on my Debian. Well almost all source games run well on linux. You might have an issue with your system. Try playing with Anti-Aliassing and MSAA settings. Those are the one that usually unstable.

IIRC I even have the same issue with AMD’s drivers as well as with the MESA ones I’m currently using.
